Challenge

In this case study, we will be looking at how one VOLOQ was able to create a successful online ecommerce platform for selling bags with Apptroid Technology.
Our challenge was to evolve with customers and enter the highly competitive on-demand handcraft products market in India.
Also creating an online ecommerce platform for selling bags is that there are many different types of bags and each type has its own unique set of characteristics. For example, some bags are made for carrying books while others are made for carrying laptops. Additionally, some bags are made for men and some are made for women. Therefore, the challenge is to create a platform that is easy to use and navigate so that customers can quickly find the type of bag they are looking for.

Our Solution

"Prototyping was the best way to gain meaningful feedback..."
We went through cycles of requirements, consensus, approvals, detailed specs, and handoffs for each feature phase.
Sketching and whiteboarding concepts and flows with our Team was followed by translating these directly into hi-fidelity design comps. Since I was using many existing design patterns, it was relatively easy to move right into hi-fidelity designs.
In the early phases we focused on only representing the highest risk areas of the design. Later phases allowed me to focus on micro‐interactions.
We made plenty of research and team decisions to finally give life to the whole platform. All of the remaining core customization products of the platform, including furniture, shoes, jeans, and 3D printing, were then made public. We spent nearly a month creating a base of these different in-house strengths. Most of our discussions were with the marketing and support teams because they are closest to the real customers.
We then created wireframes and prototypes. These could be distributed as videos and used for Usability Testing, and the final design development began with heavy documentation and style guides. The visual designers then set the design specifications for the entire infrastructure.
THE EXECUTION BRINGING IT ALL TO LIFE We created a complete website using the approved wireframes and prototypes. Creating an elegant ecommerce platform for the brand.

A user-friendly admin panel was developed to manage products, categories, and the catalogue, with easy filtering and bulk import via Excel. Orders and payment history can be easily tracked. The system simplifies order and support management, allowing the operations team to access and export data for external review.
